Our PTO is a vital part of our school organization. They have been supporting our teachers and students’ needs for many years. Did you know that our PTO funds several school activities and purchases equipment and supplies for our teachers? Here are just a few of the wonderful things the PTO does to support our school: sponsor fine arts field trips, purchase computers for classrooms, purchase programs that students can use to practice skills on the computer, purchase of a music curriculum, financially support our 5th grade musical, and purchase teacher supplies for classrooms. To raise funds, the PTO sponsors events, such as the Hilltop Hike, Jingle Bell Shop, school dances, skating parties, Mother’s Day flower sale, and the spring carnival.
As you can see, our PTO provides our teachers and students with many educational opportunities and resources. We would be at a loss if we didn’t have a dedicated group of PTO members; without them, many of the resources and supplies would not be available to our students. Of course, this is where you come in. Our PTO parents are awesome, but low in numbers. We need more supportive parents to keep the PTO alive and well. There is no cost to join, just a willingness to help out from time-to-time. As we move into our new building next year, it is a good time to become a part of our PTO.
