Reading Elementary PTO
Welcome, parents of Reading Elementary students! Here’s where you can find out all about what your PTO is doing to create and fund inspiring, educational and enjoyable events and activities for all the elementary students at Reading Schools!
What is the PTO?
We are a parent-led organization that services all Reading Elementary students from PreK-6th grade. Our goal is to provide funding and activities for students and teachers to enhance and support the education at Reading Elementary, and we always need your help! We have monthly meetings open to any elementary parents on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30pm. Email us at [email protected] for any questions or comments, and check out our Facebook page at Reading Elementary PTO for the latest information.
Fundraising, while usually dreaded by most students and parents, is vital for many of the educational tools and services that your students enjoy. From bussing for field trips, educational technology tools, and teacher supplies to teacher appreciation gifts, library, music and art equipment, and PBIS tools, you would be surprised at how many things your students use every day that was funded by you through your giving and involvement in the PTO. Our Fun Run, dinner out nights, skate parties and dances are just some of the ways the PTO raises the funds needed to give back to the education of Reading Elementary students.
Events are the fun stuff! While many are used as a way to raise funds, the PTO tries to plan events and activities that don’t just make some money but provide the students fun memories of their time in elementary school. The skate parties, dances, and fundraising contests are all planned by the PTO with the joy of the students in mind.
Here’s where you come in, parent! The PTO Board is committed to lead, plan and develop the overall direction and vision of the PTO each year, but there is no way we can pull it off without lots of help from you all! We understand the busyness of life, (we’re all parents of elementary kids, too!) but even just a couple hours of help at an event, bringing a baked good for the bake sales, or giving us your great ideas and planning acumen at the monthly PTO meeting would be a big help!
How to Help
You can help the Reading Elementary PTO by donating Box Tops for Education, or by taking part in one of our family dinner nights at Raising Cane's on the final Monday of the month or at Domino's on every second Tuesday of the month during the school year. See the flyers below.
